Summary

This role will provide direct support for the import and distribution of agricultural commodities in Spain and Portugal. You will provide assistance for the coordination of purchase and sales contracts related to import and local distribution activities by following the established guidelines. In this role, you will collaborate with internal partners (commercial department, risk team, trade execution, etc.) as well as with external counterparties (customers, suppliers and service providers) to execute the import and distribution contracts smoothly.

You must be detail oriented, thorough, demonstrate accountability, and understand the financial impact of transaction with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Good understanding of the main terms on trading and service contracts.
  • Preparation and review of trading and service contracts.
  • Execute smoothly and timely trading and service contracts within the agreed terms.
  • Responsible for coordination and scheduling (internally and externally) the execution of trading agreements.
  • Preparation and arrangement of delivery instructions to customers and third-party storage facilities. Follow-up on counterparties’ performance.
  • Invoicing.
  • Payments.
  • Stock monitoring and inventory adjustment. Quality and condition surveillance.
  • Incoming payments follow-up. Dunning program.
  • Execution of in-house & third-party CIF purchase contracts.
  • Cargo import formalities.
  • On-boarding new service providers (brokers, agents, inspection companies, etc.) following internal guidelines.
  • Maintain contract data in the different systems.
  • Ensure close collaboration and information sharing between trading departments, risk desk, load port agents, customer broker, supervision companies, etc.
  • Quality issues management/allowances.
  • Prepare administrative reports on contract and execution analysis, as required.

 

Requirements

  • Fluent in Spanish and English. Catalan and/or Portuguese are a plus.
  • Relevant work experience in logistics or import/export processes is preferred but not required. 
  • Knowledge of Incoterms.
  • Experience of using ERP systems. JD Edwards 9.0 knowledge is a plus.
 

 

CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
