Summary
Under the supervision of the EMEA Legal Director and guidance from EMEA Experienced Counsel, provide legal assistance to the EMEA business and operations.
Responsibilities
1. Corporate Governance, Control & Recordkeeping
- Support corporate housekeeping activities across EMEA entities, including preparation, coordination, and maintenance of corporate documentation (e.g. board/shareholder documents, statutory filings, approvals of annual accounts, corporate records).
- Elaborate, review and advise EMEA teams as to the preparation of powers of attorney, ensuring the necessary formalities are followed.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and up‑to‑date legal records in designated systems and repositories, ensuring proper version control and audit readiness.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external counsel to ensure timely execution, legalization, and filing of corporate documents in accordance with local requirements.
2. Litigation Monitoring & Reporting
- Support the monitoring of ongoing litigation and disputes across EMEA, under the supervision of the EMEA Legal Director and EMEA Experienced Counsel.
- Maintain litigation trackers, case summaries, and status reports, ensuring accurate and timely visibility for Legal leadership and relevant business stakeholders.
- Act as a point of coordination with external counsel for routine updates, document requests, litigation spend control and procedural steps, escalating risks and deviations as appropriate.
3. Legal Spend Management & Outside Counsel Coordination
- Support the onboarding, coordination, and day‑to‑day interaction with external legal service providers across EMEA, in line with CHS guidelines.
- Monitor legal invoices and support internal approval and payment workflows, ensuring transparency, consistency, and cost control.
- Prepare spend summaries and reporting to support budgeting, and management review of legal costs.
- Support and lead automation and continuous improvement of spend management.
4. Legal Operations & Process Support
- Contribute to the development, standardization, and continuous improvement of legal processes, templates, trackers, and reporting tools across EMEA.
- Provide general legal operations support to the EMEA Legal team, including coordination of routine requests and lower‑complexity matters under supervision.
- Support the continuous enhancement and application of technology and automation to optimize the EMEA Legal Department’s operations.
5. Support routine legal counseling
- With the support of the EMEA Legal Director and the EMEA Experienced Counsel, provide general legal support to EMEA’s operations.
- Elaborate and review routine contract work, advising the business on reduced complexity contractual matters.
- Assist the EMEA Legal Director and the EMEA Experienced counsel in providing legal assistance across EMEA in all required fields of law.
Minimum Qualifications (required)
- Law degree from an accredited institution; bar admission in at least one EMEA jurisdiction preferred or as required by local regulation.
- 2–5 years of relevant legal experience, ideally including exposure to corporate governance, litigation support, legal operations, or law firm coordination.
- Strong organizational skills with demonstrated experience in document management, reporting, and process discipline.
- Ability to work effectively across jurisdictions and cultures in a matrixed, international environment.
- Fluent in English and at least one additional EMEA language, preferably Romanian
