Summary

CHS, Inc. has an exciting opportunity at our Pipelines & Terminals division in Chase, KS.  We are looking for a Mechanic to perform repairs, preventive maintenance, replacements, or adjustments to ensure the avialability and reliability of all area equipment.  You must be a self-motivated, detail-oriented, results-driven individual with a commitment to quality, accuracy, and the ability to organize and prioritize workloads to meet deadlines. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to work in both a team environment and on self-directed tasks are necessary.  

Responsibilities

  • Perform required maintenance on pumps, motors, valves, meters, mixers, and other miscellaneous equipment in a safe, workman like manner and with the highest achievable quality.
  • Schedule and perform preventive maintenance on equipment in the assigned ara of responsibility to minimize unscheduled downtime and to improve the availability and the reilability of equipment.
  • Record and monitor equipment run time, vibration trends, and results of oil analysis to help predict failures and help develop the preventive maintenance schedule.
  • Keep accurate record of work done and work to be done including compliance with all required documentation for the D.O.T.
  • Keep an accurate inventory of all equipment within the assigned area of responsibility.
  • Keep an inventory of spares and critical repair parts for all equipment on the pipeline in the assigned area.
  • Be familiar with and comply with all applicable safety procedures such as lockout-tag out, hot work permits, confined space entry, etc.
  • Participate as a member of the area work team and perform other duties as requested or needed.
  • This position is subject to emergency callouts on nights and weekends.

 

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ Years of related experience and/or training
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Current CDL or the ability to obtain

Additional Qualifications

  • Technical degree/certificate in related field of study
  • Familiar with specialty tools, such as micrometers and vibration and alignment equipment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
  • Some out of town travel required

Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
