Summary

 

CHS, Inc. is hiring a Vice  President, Global Grain & Processing, EMEA based in our Geneva headquarters to serve as the senior executive leader for the region, accountable for shaping, driving, and executing CHS’s long and short-term strategy across all EMEA markets. This role is critical to advancing the company’s global growth ambitions and delivering sustained value for our owners.

 

As the regional leader, the Vice President provides strategic direction, commercial oversight, and operational governance for the EMEA portfolio, ensuring strong performance, market expansion, and disciplined risk management. The role serves as the principal representative of CHS in the region, strengthening the company’s position with customers, partners, governments, and key external stakeholders.

 

In addition to leading the regional operations, the Vice President has executive responsibility for ensuring continuity of leadership and strategic integration across business lines.

 

The ideal candidate brings deep leadership experience  - preferably with significant exposure to the EMEA region and a track record of success in multinational, matrixed environments within the commodity trading, grain, processing, supply chain, or risk management sectors. Prior full P&L responsibility in a strategically significant region is highly advantageous.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership for all EMEA operations and matrix functional areas, ensuring alignment with CHS’s global strategy and long-term value creation goals
  • Drive a high-performance culture focused on safe, disciplined, and efficient execution, empowering teams to deliver operational, commercial, and financial results
  • Build organizational capability by coaching, mentoring, and developing leaders and teams to achieve excellence in safety, sustainability, compliance, and operational delivery
  • Establish and continuously enhance world class operational processes, ensuring rigor, transparency, and consistency across the region
  • Inspire a shared sense of mission and strategic clarity, ensuring strong execution on current priorities while anticipating and preparing for future market and operational requirements
  • Oversee regional planning and performance management, including long-term strategic roadmaps, annual operating plans, and capital budgets, ensuring disciplined resource allocation
  • Cultivate an inclusive, collaborative, and value-based operating environment, fostering cross regional cooperation, talent development, and adherence to the highest ethical standards
  • Lead the development of the regional investment agenda and strategic partnerships aligned with CHS’s global growth priorities

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business, supply chain or related field
  • 15+ years of experience in a trading, risk management, or production operations ideally across multiple geographies or business lines 
  • Prior strategic leadership experience with progressively senior level responsibilities
  • Fluency in English is required

Additional Qualifications

  • Proven track record of building and leading high performing teams, with the executive presence to influence across both regions and functions
  • Strong operational and commercial expertise, with the ability to connect strategic intent to disciplined, effective execution 
  • Demonstrated executive presentation and communication skills
  • Proficiency in one or more additional European languages is a plus
  • Deep financial acumen, with mastery of income statements, balance sheets, capital allocation, and value creation drivers
  • Hands on, pragmatic leadership style, combined with the ability to step back and steer at the strategic enterprise level
  • Experience navigating global, matrixed organizations, with demonstrated success in aligning diverse stakeholders to a common agenda
  • Strategic thinker with strong intellectual agility, capable of leading operations in a complex, capital-intensive marketplace
