Summary

CHS, Inc. has an exciting opportunity within our Global Grain and Processing (GG&P) Commercial organization. We are hiring an Ag Trader, reporting to the the Sr Director, Derivatives, and is primarily focused on proprietary trading volatility and price for the major agricultural markets. This position will also maintain existing and develop new algorithmic strategies to enhance the trade desk capabilities. 

This position is onsite at our global corporate headquarters in Inver Grove Heights, MN. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Proprietary trade in volatility and price  for Corn/Soybean/Wheats
  • Owner of desk’s volatility surfaces; identifying and advising on trade opportunities
  • Maintain Python code, back test, optimize, and execute for existing algorithmic trade strategies (and develop new) 
  • Participate in running desk’s fundamental analytics package 
  • Perform other responsibities as needed or assigned.
     

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of experience in proprietary trading 

Additional Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Masters degree preferred with emphasis on Statistics/Probability/Computer-Science
  • Relevant trade experience in Agriculture
  • 5+ years of experience in proprietary trading preferred
  • Vanilla and Exotic derivatives knowledge with experience managing Greeks/VaR
  • Programming ability (Python and VBA)
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Data management skills
  • CQG trade execution and Openlink risk management 
  • Experience on an OTC desk
  • Resilient and ambitious with a sense of urgency
  • Ability to adapt to fast changing environment
  • Excellent, open communication skills, both written and verbal

Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
