Summary

CHS has an exciting opportunity in our Corporate Tax Group. We are seeking an Indirect Tax Senior Analyst. The candidate must have strong analytical skills, be detail-oriented, able to build strong working relationships within our team and across the business through effective verbal and written communication. This position will be responsible for various indirect taxes in US and Canada including sales and use, motor fuel and agronomy taxes.  This is a hybrid position where you'd be working out of our Inver Grove Heights, MN office three days a week.

Responsibilities

  • Working independently, prepare and file complex monthly state tax returns and support the compilation of the federal excise tax return. 
  • Collect and analyze data from activity reports, the general ledger and business units. 
  • Create the file returns. 
  • Provide assistance to more junior team members.
  • Reconcile tax accounts and create required journal entries.
  • Assist with the identification of and compliance with internal controls. Coordinate and support tax audits.
  • Support business units and customers in regard to taxes. Respond to questions regarding rates, licenses and applicability of tax to transactions. Assist with credit/rebills as necessary.
  • Research tax law, communicate necessary changes, AvaTax Returns Excise scenarios and profiles, and exemption licenses and registrations.
  • Support other indirect tax compliance, systems, and special projects.
  • Perform other responsibilities as needed or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Business, Business Administration, or related field
  • 4+ years of experience in Finance, Accounting, and/or Tax Accounting

Additional Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of tax accounting
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficient in MS Office suite
  • Detail-oriented with commitment to accuracy and quality
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
