Summary
CHS is offering a valuable opportunity for a summer Communications Intern to become an integral part of our dynamic communications team. In this role, you will gain comprehensive, hands-on experience across multiple facets of communications. In addition, you learn about our global business, allowing you to develop professional and personal skills and make meaningful contributions to our purpose of creating connections to empower agriculture.
During the summer, the intern will rotate through four key communications areas: internal communications; communication tactic development and execution; content, channels and reputation communications; and governance communications.
Responsibilities
- Assist with development of internal and external communications.
- Support communications execution for functional teams and business lines.
- Create and help publish content for employee newsletters, intranet, websites and social platforms.
- Contribute to content that supports CHS purpose, priorities, culture, values and reputation.
- Participate in special projects, including research, content audits, technology implementations, etc.
- Collaborate with communications team and internal partners across the organization as needed.
- Learn and follow CHS brand standards, editorial guidelines and digital best practices.
Minimum Qualifications (required)
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, public relations, business or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Experience with student organizations, internships or coursework related to communications.
Additional Qualifications
- Interest in corporate and business communications.
- Familiarity with digital content, websites or social media.
- Interest in agriculture, food, energy or cooperative business models.
- Familiarity with Microsoft tools (Word, Teams, etc.) and design programs.
CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
