Summary

CHS, Inc. is hiring a Focus Products Procurement and Logistics Coordinator to support CHS’s proprietary Focus Products portfolio - a broad range of SKUs within the wholesale agronomy business - by managing day-to-day procurement, supplier execution, production readiness, inventory visibility, logistics coordination and ERP order processing. This role helps ensure product availability during critical seasonal periods through close collaboration with suppliers, toll manufacturers, third-party manufacturing and packaging partners, and internal stakeholders.

 

The successful candidate will improve the speed, accuracy and visibility of purchasing, inventory and production planning activities - helping reduce bottlenecks, strengthen supply continuity and minimize last-minute issues.

Responsibilities

Procurement and supplier execution

  • Serve as the primary operational contact for assigned supplier, toller, and manufacturer relationships, coordinating routine communications, updates, and issue resolution.
  • Prepare and route purchase orders and related system actions in the ERP for assigned suppliers and Focus brands.
  • Track order confirmations, lead times, shipment timing, and delivery status, and escalate risks early.
  • Support tracking of supplier programs and rebate opportunities in partnership with the Focus Logistics and Procurement Lead.

Production readiness and toller / manufacturing coordination

  • Coordinate production readiness activities for CHS Focus Products, including raw material and ingredient readiness, packaging readiness, and production timing inputs.
  • Partner with third-party manufacturing and packaging partners to ensure steady product supply and on-time production.
  • Support forecasting inputs by consolidating supply needs from product owners and highlighting gaps or timing risks.

Logistics scheduling and shipment coordination 

  • Own logistics scheduling for Focus Products, including load scheduling and dispatching-style coordination. 
  • Coordinate the inbound and outbound movement of raw materials and finished goods across suppliers, production partners, and delivery points. 
  • Coordinate shipment timing and handoffs to keep direct loads and warehouse fulfillment on schedule. ERP, order, SKU, and invoice process support
  • Submit and process orders for Focus Products and their associated raw materials in D365, and schedule the corresponding logistics.
  • Support new SKU approval: receive requests, review with the appropriate stakeholders, and add SKUs in D365 where applicable.
  • Support invoice receiving processes in the ERP, including validating required information, receiving, and coordinating handoffs as needed.

Inventory visibility, reporting, and risk management

  • Support inventory discipline by monitoring on-hand levels, open orders, and projected needs to reduce stockouts and excess.
  • Maintain an exception log for items that may impact production timing, availability, or shipments, and drive resolution with appropriate owners.
  • Build and maintain weekly snapshots of inventory status, open orders, and key risks across assigned suppliers and production partners.
  • Identify and drive resolution for common failure points such as incomplete order requests, minimum-order requirements, missing ship-to data, or packaging gaps.

Continuous improvement and standard work 

  • Maintain clean documentation and standard work for repeatable processes that improve speed and reduce rework.
  • Improve processes and documentation to reduce friction, increase self-service, and minimize last-minute issues.
  • Support onboarding and training for new team members on relevant execution workflows.

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of experience in supply chain, procurement, logistics, production coordination, operations, agriculture, or a related field. 

Additional Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in supply chain, operations, business, agriculture, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience working in an ERP system.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a seasonal, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365). Power BI experience is preferred
  • Experience supporting contract manufacturing partners, production planning, packaging coordination, or raw material readiness.
  • Agriculture, crop protection, nutrients, adjuvants, or proprietary product experience. 
  • Familiarity with manufacturer programs (for example, early order programs, inventory protection, return / exchange offers, and quarterly offers) and corresponding purchasing functions.
  • Prior supplier, toller, or vendor interaction and relationship management.
  • Experience building repeatable process documentation and standard work.

CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
