Summary
CHS has an exciting opportunity in our Corporate Tax Group. We are seeking an Indirect Tax Senior Analyst. The candidate must have strong analytical skills, be detail-oriented, able to build strong working relationships within our team and across the business through effective verbal and written communication. This position will be responsible for various indirect taxes in US and Canada including sales and use, motor fuel and agronomy taxes.
Responsibilities
Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Preparation, filing and payment of monthly tax returns and related GL reconciliation and journal entries
Respond to inquiries and resolve notices/assessments from taxing jurisdictions and regulatory agencies
Coordinate and support of indirect tax audits
Review licensing requirements and complete applications and renewals
Maintain customer licenses and exemption certificates
Independently research and resolve indirect tax questions from internal departments as well as external tax jurisdictions
Participate and contribute to tax continuous process improvement efforts and company-wide projects that impact the Indirect Tax team.
Minimum Qualifications (required)
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or business related field
Minimum 4+ years of multistate indirect tax compliance experience in a public accounting firm or large, multi-entity corporate tax department in Agriculture and/or Oil and Gas industry
Working knowledge of tax compliance software such as Avalara, IGEN ComplyIQ or comparable products
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, Teams
Experience with tax research software such as CCH and RIA Checkpoint
Strong data analytical and problem-solving skills
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrate capacity to work under deadline driven environment
Ability to work independently with minimal guidance
Additional Qualifications
- CPA certification
- Master of Business Taxation
- Knowledge of JDE and SAP

Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
