Summary

CHS has an exciting opportunity within our AFD transportation and distribution operation. The Logistics Supervisor, AFD is responsible for daily oversight of drivers and routing teams to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient fuel delivery operations. This role supports a large-scale, fast-paced distribution network and plays a key part in executing logistics plans that meet customer demand.

The Supervisor collaborates closely with Safety and leadership to ensure adherence to DOT and regulatory requirements while driving operational efficiency and continuous improvement. This position is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about team development, safety, and service excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day driver and routing operations to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable deliveries
  • Lead, coach, and develop drivers and routing personnel, including scheduling and performance management
  • Consult with Ops Manager and various stakeholders on incident response and resolution 
  • Partner with Safety to ensure compliance with DOT regulations, FMCSA requirements, and company policies
  • Monitor routing efficiency and execution, ensuring optimized routes are created and followed
  • Address and resolve operational challenges related to deliveries, staffing, and equipment
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure route plans align with customer demand and service expectations
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement across the team
  • Support onboarding and training of new drivers and routing staff
  • Assist with dispatch coordination, load planning, and real-time adjustments to delivery schedules
  • Maintain accurate documentation related to driver activities, compliance, and operational performance

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of experience in Supply Chain and Procurement and/or Transportation and Logistics

Additional Qualifications

  • Prior experience leading employees or teams highly preferred
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Business, Systems Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, or related field
  • Experience managing drivers and routing operations in a fast-paced or 24/7 environment
  • Working knowledge of DOT regulations, safety compliance, and transportation requirements
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively across teams, including operations, safety, and customers
  • Experience in fuel, energy, or regulated industries preferred
  • Proficient with routing systems, dispatch tools, or transportation management systems (TMS)

CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
