Summary

CHS is seeking a well-rounded business relationship partner to help preserve and enhance enterprise value through actionable insights. This position will manage a group of high-performing professionals focused on supporting the business as the third line of defense, driving continuous improvements, and leading change to impact performance through disciplined execution. You must be passionate about helping others succeed and willing to think outside the box while building long-lasting partnerships across the business. A successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a high sense of urgency, and the ability to drive profitable change.

Responsibilities

Business Relationship Partner

  • Establish strong business partnerships and lines of communication with senior executives in finance, compliance, and operations.
  • Act as a strategic business partner in evaluating and recommending leading practices on operational and strategic issues.
  • Strategically navigate socializing audit results to ELT/SLT members before issuing reports.

 

People Leader and Developer

  • Providing coaching and feedback after and during audits.
  • Develop a high performing team culture and help others succeed.

 

Risk-Based Audit Plan Leadership

  • Help develop and execute a risk-based annual audit plan for specific CHS business segments.
  • Support annual risk assessment activities and quarterly leadership updates.

 

Manage and Review Audit Work

  • Help lead auditor plan audits, manage the project, and assess audit findings.
  • Provide hands-on guidance for team members on audits procedures and report writing.
  • Perform detailed review of audit work papers for individual audits and SOX testing.

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or another business-related field
  • A minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience, including at least 2 years of people leadership
  • Expertise in internal or external audit

Additional Qualifications

  • CPA, CIA, or CISA certification
  • Master’s degree in accounting/finance or Master of Business Administration (MBA)
  • Experience at a large multi-national company
  • Experience with a public accounting firm working with large, diverse organizations
  • Experience in Commodity Trading, Agriculture or Energy
  • SAP system experience
