Summary
CHS Energy Marketing is seeking a highly motivated, innovative, and detail-oriented Senior Marketing Specialist to lead and execute marketing initiatives across energy wholesale businesses, including refined fuels, lubricants, propane, and automated fuel delivery. This role requires strong communication skills (both written and verbal), exceptional organizational abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, collaborative team player, and strategic thinker who can deliver impactful marketing programs.
Responsibilities
Marketing Initiatives & Execution
- Develop, implement, and execute B2B and B2C marketing programs, campaigns, and promotions for Cenex® branded wholesale refined fuels and lubricants.
- Drive demand through strategies and sponsorships, leveraging both traditional and digital media platforms.
- Manage marketing budgets, including content development, program execution, and performance tracking.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Prepare and distribute marketing materials such as presentations, product literature, and promotional content.
- Drive brand strategies, including content development, marketing program and promotion implementation, channel communications, sponsorships, event execution and trade advertising.
- Play a key role in developing and executing product and sales promotion communications with both internal sales teams and external customers.
- Independently manage key products and promotional elements including product literature, data sheets, packaging, and related product communications.
Program, Vendor, & Stakeholder Management
- Manage vendor relationships and partner with key contacts to oversee production of marketing tools (print, digital, radio, social media) that increase product awareness and consideration for Cenex branded products.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external agencies to ensure timely delivery of marketing programs.
- Track program performance against KPIs to measure ROI and recommend improvements.
- Facilitate communication between CHS and Cenex® affiliates to maintain brand consistency.
- Craft and deploy communications for multiple audiences (dealers, end-users, internal teams) across traditional and digital platforms.
- Collaborate with sales, product line management, technical services, and operations teams to support product development and market growth.
- Partner with training teams and sales leadership to support training efforts and materials.
- Respond to questions, concerns, and requests from key audiences including field staff, dealers, vendors, and employees regarding marketing programs and promotions
Minimum Qualifications (required)
- High School diploma or GED
- 4+ years of experience in Communications and/or Marketing
Additional Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred in Communications, Communication Arts, Marketing, Journalism, Business, English, Public Relations, or related field
- Experience in agriculture, energy, refined fuels, lubricants, or heavy-duty industries.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Intermediate level computer skills required in PowerPoint, Word, Excel.
- Experience with project management, content creation, and CRM, or use of marketing data.
- Experience in the cooperative system.

CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
