Summary
Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and maintain daily fuel delivery routes to maximize service levels, asset utilization, and operational efficiency.
- Monitor route execution and make real-time adjustments in response to customer demand, weather events, traffic conditions, equipment availability, and other operational factors.
- Coordinate with drivers and operations teams to resolve routing challenges and ensure service commitments are met.
- Analyze route performance metrics and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Partner with supervisors and logistics leadership to improve routing strategies, delivery efficiency, and customer experience.
- Support scheduling activities and resource planning to align delivery capacity with business needs.
- Utilize routing, fleet management, and transportation management systems to plan and execute daily operations.
- Ensure routing activities comply with company policies, DOT regulations, and safety requirements.
- Communicate proactively with internal stakeholders regarding service interruptions, route changes, and operational priorities.
- Maintain accurate documentation and operational records.
- Willing to work extended hours during peak demand periods and participate in a rotational weekend schedule as required.
- Perform other responsibilities as needed or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (required)
- High School diploma or GED.
- 2+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain, dispatch, routing, fleet operations, or a related field.
Additional Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation, Business, or a related field.
- Experience using transportation, dispatch, routing, logistics, or scheduling software.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Experience routing commercial vehicles in a dynamic, multi-location environment.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation operations.
- Experience utilizing routing optimization tools and transportation management systems.
- Ability to analyze operational data and make effective business decisions.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with both field and office-based teams.
- Experience supporting fuel, energy, agriculture, bulk commodities, or other highly regulated industries is preferred.
CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
