Summary

This role will work across multiple teams supporting Corporate Development, Cooperative Ventures, and Corporate Strategy reporting to the Director of Enterprise Strategy and Ventures.  This employee will partner across these groups to deliver on high impact enterprise projects including mergers and acquisitions, corporate ventures, and enterprise strategy.   

 

The ideal candidate will advance work on multiple projects across these functions displaying strategic thinking and analytical rigor, while partnering with internal and external stakeholders to advance CHS.  

Responsibilities

  • Partner with business and finance leaders to build complex financial models involving vetting operating assumptions, enterprise synergies, and multiple scenarios

  • Support business leaders, finance, legal, and other functions in risk identification and mitigation

  • Prepare presentation materials providing summary analyses, updates, and recommendations to project leaders

  • Coordinate due diligence efforts of numerous business functions including tracking and analyzing information requests  

  • Participate in review of legal documentation and creating supporting data (e.g., disclosure schedules, exhibits, annexes, etc.)

  • Conduct detailed analyses to drive key strategy activities like market research, competitive intelligence, trends analysis, financial and business case modeling and risk assessments

  • Support the execution of the annual strategic planning process including but not limited to working with various business and functional teams to craft annual strategic choices and initiatives  

  • ​Support the development of effective and timely strategy reviews across the organization  

  • ​Manage KPIs and dashboards as necessary for monitoring strategy execution​ 

  • Perform other responsibilities as needed or assigned.
     

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related field. 
  • 4+ years of experience in strategy, corporate development, venture capital, finance, business management or related field 

Additional Qualifications

  • Exceptional analytical skills for key strategy activities like market research, analytical model development and competitive intelligence  

  • Strong written, verbal, facilitation, and presentation skills

  • Experience creating professional presentations and materials for a variety of audiences  

  • Strong financial acumen  

  • Comfort working across multiple businesses and functions simultaneously

  • Preferred, but not required: Experience in investment banking, venture capital, private equity, management consulting, food, agriculture or energy industry
  • Mindset of continual learning and growth to advance, and challenge, existing ways of working

CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
