Summary

CHS is looking for a Union- Worker, Production to join our lubricants team at our Inver Grove Heights blending and packaging facility.

Compensation Data

Salary Range: $20.50

This is a union role. Wages are based on the collective bargaining agreement.

Responsibilities

  • Work extensively in a manufacturing environment packaging lubricant products in various size containers.
  • Periodically work in a warehousing environment picking orders and/or receiving new inventory.
  • Operate forklift and other material handling equipment.
  • Enter order data into computer system.
  • Complete order paperwork and reports.
  • Follow all safety and compliance regulations, creating a safe work environment.
  • Learn and perform all aspects of the bagger, sewer, palletizer and cleaner job functions while maintaining food safety, employee safety, and line efficiencies.
  • Assist the Process Lead during line changeovers and start-ups.
  • Monitor machines and make minor adjustments to ensure quality and efficiency requirements.
  • Assist with the training of new employees in conjunction with the Process Lead and Shift Manager.
  • Follow the specifications established for product and packaging requirements.
  • Keep abreast of the production schedule and plan changeovers accordingly.
  • Performs changeover and end of run cleaning as directed by the Process Lead and Shift Manager.
  • Learn and comply with all food safety, GMP, and sanitation policies and procedures.
  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
  • Follow standard methods to plan and perform a sequence of operations to set-up and operate all plant equipment making general decisions to ensure food safety and product quality.
  • Facilitate team assignments during plant clean-up periods to meet efficiency and food safety requirements.
  • Document process conditions and processing uptime.
  • Establish and facilitate new employee training schedules in conjunction with the Shift Manager.
  • Assist in new employee evaluation in conjunction with the Shift Manager.Know all job junctions in the Soy plant and relieve Soy plant team members as needed.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives for efficiency, safety and product safety in conjunction with the Shift Manager.
  • Fill in for Shift Manager in certain situations.
  • Conduct general labor duties throughout the plant, including material handling, general cleanup duties, machine operation and painting.
  • Grounds maintenance including mowing, spraying and weed removal.
  • Maintain equipment that is used such as skid loaders, forklifts, sweepers, front end loaders, floor sweep, etc.
  • Clean and maintain switch points.
  • Assist department(s) where assigned, may include working shift work as needed.
  • Keep work areas in a clean, orderly and safe condition.
  • Perform special duties as needed or assigned.
