Summary

CHS, Inc. has an exciting opportunity within our refineries, pipelines & terminals (RPT) Human Resources department. We are looking for an experienced and energetic Human Resources Operations Supervisor to support CHS’s refineries, pipelines & terminals (RPT) division. This role is responsible for maintaining current workforce system functionality, assessing and implementing enhancements, expanding analytics and reporting capabilities, and driving consistency in payroll and workforce systems processes across the refineries, pipelines & terminals division at CHS. In addition, this position will lead continuous improvement efforts on HR Operations processes for the RPT division.

This position can be located in Laurel, MT or McPherson, KS. 

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary business owner for the RPT division workforce and payroll systems, including system governance, requirement prioritization, testing, and change management.
  • Assess enhancement opportunities to improve accuracy, efficiency, and user experience.
  • Partner with IT, external vendors and CHS corporate HR Operations to resolve defects, manage upgrades, and guide future system development.
  • Build and expand analytic capabilities to support improved reporting, compliance monitoring, and workforce decision-making.
  • Ensure workforce and payroll system configurations align with union contracts, pay rules, labor agreements, and business requirements for the Laurel refinery, McPherson refinery and Pipelines & Terminal union contracts.
  • Oversee system configurations to support leave of absences and vacation bidding for the Laurel Refinery union.
  • Lead and provide day-to-day directions to a team of three, ensuring consistent and accurate payroll practices and contract adherence.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts on process and documentation for RPT systems, payroll, and related HR operational processes by standardizing procedures, maintaining system and process documentation, and supporting consistent knowledge transfer and compliance across Laurel and McPherson.
  • Manage workers compensation program for the Laurel refinery and pipelines & terminals team. 

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years’ experience in HR operations, HR systems administration or payroll processing 

Additional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in human resources, IT, business or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in HR operations, HR systems administration or payroll processing
  • 2+ years’ experience of formal leadership with direct responsibility for team oversight
  • Hands-on experience with HR systems and workforce management platforms
  • Experience supporting and maintaining HR system functionality to include troubleshooting, data integrity validation and systems and process support
  • Understanding of payroll processing and associated compliance requirements
  • Demonstrated experience working with cross-functional teams
  • Experience working in environments with complex workforce structures such as union or multi-site operations

Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
