Summary

CHS has an exciting opportunity at our Refinery, Pipelines & Terminals facility in Laurel, MT.  We are looking for a Logistics Coordinator (Rail and Truck Scheduler) for our Residual Marketing Department. This position is responsible for scheduling refinery products that ship via rail and truck to multiple customers, both internal and external. This position requires attention to detail and the ability to spot errors and inconsistencies, the ability to work with others at all levels of the organization, and exceptional communication skills, both oral and written. 

Responsibilities

  • Access product tanks via the Tank Inventory System to verify product availability for orders.
  • Responsible for managing all railcars and trucks (CHS and customer) to maintain accurate fleets.
  • Daily verification of railcars and trucks to schedule and coordinate shipments.
  • Monitor and maintain knowledge of available railcars and trucks to support customer order fulfillment.
  • Schedule and coordinate rail and truck shipments to ensure the timely delivery of orders to customers.
  • Trace rail and truck shipments as requested/required and provide pertinent information.
  • Maintain freight pricing in the transportation system as required and update as needed
  • Prepare and provide reports on railcar and truck ship times, dwell times, rejected cars, delayed delivery, etc.
  • Provide analytics to support decision-making.
  • Work with truck drivers, dispatchers, and customers to maintain truck, trailer, and driver profiles
  • Monitor and create necessary reports to monitor customer rail and truck shipments to maintain the best usage of the lease railcar fleet.
  • Develop and implement KPI metrics by gathering rail and truck data to report rail performance
  • Respond to, resolve, and file any email sent to the Residual Marketing Department related to the tasks mentioned above.
  • Answer the Residual Marketing main phone line and address any questions or respond to issues promptly.
  • Address customer issues with railcars, trucks, and drivers regarding deliveries or customer complaints.
  • Provide information for operations. This position maintains railcar ERP software data 
  • Other general duties assigned by a supervisor or manager

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • 2+ years of experience in Supply Chain and Procurement and/or Transportation and Logistics
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Ability to provide weekend coverage to support this position 7 days a week.

Additional Qualifications

  • DOT Hazardous Materials Training – Shipping Papers Certification

Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
