Summary

CHS is looking for an intern to fill a summer position at the Malta, MT location. You will work extensively with the Outside Sales Agronomist and the staff at that location providing customer service through a wide rage of offered services. Services including crop protection and nutrient assistance, monitoring fields and production activity and help in the day to day problem solving task that are presented. 

Responsibilities

•    Provide Customer Service
•    Crop scouting for pest (weeds, insects and diseases) and assisting in concluding a solution
•    Learning different types of pesticide products and proper placements
•    Learning different crop management techniques
•    Retrieving soil sampling and analyzing the results
•    Learning nutrient availabilities, and the signs of deficiency in crops
•    Assist in the day to day operations of the Livestock Nutrition department
•    Taking feed samples, analyzing feed quality and nutritional value
•    Generate weekly written reports analyzing the obtained information and findings
•    Provide Product Delivery
•    Assisting in inventory management
•    Assisting in daily maintenance and facility operation

Minimum Qualifications (required)

•    Currently enrolled in an Agriculture related degree program
•    Have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office Software
•    Must be able to work long hours and weekends
•    Being detail oriented
•    Convey good communication skills

Physical Requirements

  • Able to lift a minimum 50#
