Summary
CHS Southwest Grain has an exciting opportunity for an Operations Supervisor at our New England, ND location! This hands-on leadership role supports grain, agronomy, feed, animal health, and related operations while overseeing a small team and helping drive safe, efficient day-to-day performance. The ideal candidate will bring industry experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to balance employee leadership, inventory management, operational support, and computer-based administrative tasks. Responsibilities
- Serve as a hands-on supervisor, overseeing daily operations across grain, agronomy, feed, and animal health while providing work direction to team members to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable service to customers.
- Schedule production to meet plant requirements; accounting for proper sequence, clean-out procedures, products ordered, and current inventories.
- Manage operational and retail inventories, including grain, feed, animal health products, and agronomy products; monitor inventory levels, coordinate transfers as needed, and place product orders to support business needs.
- Lead and support team members by assigning tasks, holding meetings, tracking safety requirements, and ensuring employees are trained and following company safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Supervise plant maintenance to ensure proper operation, repairs, and preventive maintenance requirements are met. Maintain proper record keeping logs.
- Oversee and manage inventories, both ingredients, and finished products.
- Enforce safety rules and administer all company and government regulations.
- Supervise team member training for job duties, safety, equipment requirements, and quality control to ensure proper functions of assigned duties.
- Evaluate and make recommendations to improve existing programs in safety and equipment maintenance to avoid breakdowns and hazards.
- Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
- Perform other responsibilities as needed or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (required)
- High School diploma or GED
- 2+ years of experience in Operations and/or Business Operations
Additional Qualifications
- Understanding of basic business principles of inventory management
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to motivate and lead team members
- Ability to work extended hours as needed to meet business needs
- Previous supervisory experience preferred

Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
