Summary
CHS Inc is seeking a Part-Time Scale Operator in Newark, IL to support grain operations by weighing and grading inbound and outbound loads, assisting customers, and handling scale documentation. This role offers a flexible schedule based on business demand and hours will vary throughout the year. Duties are expected to increase typically during peak spring and fall harvest seasons when employees may work 40+ hours per week. During slower periods, hours are reduced and scheduled as needed to support facility operations. Apply and join our global impact today!
Responsibilities
- Weigh and grade grain in all inbound and outbound trucks using computer and manual tools for measurement.
- Provide a high level of customer service by addressing customers in a prompt, efficient and courteous manner.
- Answer telephone promptly and direct calls as needed.
- Maintain a clean work area.
- Assist other personnel as needed.
- Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
Minimum Qualifications (required)
- 0-6+ months of Operations, Business Operations and/or Customer Service
Additional Qualifications
- Ability to work varying hours based on business demand
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- General data entry and computer skills
- Ability to work longer days, weekends, and/or holidays during peak seasons

CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
