Summary
CHS in the Sharon Springs/Colby, KS area is looking for a Hazmat Truck Driver to join our team. This individual is responsible for hauling gas, diesel, and propane to our customers in a timely manner. In addition to driving you must be able to do service work, do basic maintenance around the bulk plant, and help the operations team. This is a M-F position with Saturdays as needed during our spring and fall busy seasons. The ideal candidate would possess a Class A or B CDL with their hazmat endorsement.

Responsibilities
- Safely transport and deliver hazardous materials to customer locations using a semi-tractor and trailer and or bobtail truck in a safe, compliant manner, and timely manner.
- Load and unload products by connecting/disconnecting loading arms and hoses; follow all hazardous material handling and transfer safety procedures.
- Deliver professional, customer-focused service during pickups and deliveries, and coordinate with internal teams as needed.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections; report equipment issues, maintenance needs, incidents, or near misses promptly. Perform interior maintenance and upkeep as needed.
- Prepare delivery documentation and daily load/unload reports; record accurate electronic logs
- Comply with DOT regulations and company policies for safe driving, including route and hazard awareness. Immediately notify leadership of incidents, near misses, spills/releases, or safety concerns
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications (required)
- Valid Class A or Class B CDL (as required for the equipment/route)
- Valid Hazmat endorsement required, or willingness to obtain within the required timeframe.
- Have a minimum of 1 year of verifiable CDL driving experience
- Must meet age requirement
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and compliance, and complete required documentation accurately

- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to safely climb in and out of truck cabs and trailers
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions; travel and time away from home as required by the schedule
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and in environments with regular exposure to hazardous materials.

Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
