In this role, you’ll assist with producing high-quality livestock feed by learning equipment operations, supporting daily production tasks, and helping keep the facility running safely and efficiently. This is a great opportunity to build skills in a fast-paced environment—no prior feed mill experience required. We provide on-the-job training!

Responsibilities
- Learn to operate feed mill equipment (grinders, mixers, and batching systems) to support livestock feed production
- Assist with receiving and handling feed ingredients, including helping load and unload trucks
- Support the loadout process by opening hatches, connecting hoses, taking samples, and checking product accuracy
- Help monitor batching and scaling systems to ensure quality and consistency in finished feed
- Perform basic equipment checks, cleaning, and routine maintenance; report any issues to the team
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment through daily housekeeping and spill cleanup
- Follow safety and quality guidelines while working with the team to meet daily production goals
Minimum Qualifications (required)
- Knowledge of operations, production, manufacturing, agriculture or general labor enviroments.
- Must meet minimum age requirement
Additional Qualifications
- Ability to operate machinery such as loaders, conveyors, tractors, and track mobile
- Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons to meet business demands
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- Agriculture experience preferred
- Forklift certification preferred
- Pre-employment screening is based on the job requirements and industry guidelines and may or may not be required for the position. If required, selected candidates must pass pre-employment screenings to include all or a combination of drug, criminal, motor vehicle check, physical requirements and FMSCA Clearinghouse.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work independently for extended periods of time, as well as in confined spaces and in hazardous environments.
- Ability to spend long periods of time on your feet including walking, standing and climbing steps and ladders, and working at heights up to 120 ft.
- Ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to wear all required protective equipment may include respirators, hard hats, and eye and hearing protection.
- Ability to use both automated and manual tools and equipment.
- Ability to shovel, sweep, load, unload, lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs frequently
- Ability to work in noisy ,dusty, and all-weather conditions
CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
