Summary

CHS has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Wholesale Focus Product Representative on the Crop Protection (CP) team. This role plays a key part in advancing CHS commercial excellence by providing technical training, product expertise, and sales support to CHS customers and internal sales teams, with a primary focus on designated Focus Products aligned with CHS marketing and growth strategies. 

 

In this role, the Focus Product Representative partners closely with sales managers, technical specialists, and marketing teams to enable effective customer conversations and commercial execution aligned with CHS growth priorities. The position serves as a trusted sales enablement resource by translating product knowledge, field experience, and market insights into practical, customer‑ready solutions that support sales performance and long‑term relationships.

 

This role also contributes to the development of sales tools, training content, and customer messaging that reinforce CHS product strategy and support consistent execution in the market. While collaboration with technical and research partners is part of the role, the primary focus remains on supporting sales teams, advancing customer engagement, and driving profitable growth for CHS Focus Products.

Responsibilities

  • Assist technical specialists and sales team members in building customer confidence and effectively positioning Focus Products across the organization
  • Support Account Manager in positioning of seed-applied technologies (seed treatments, inoculants, biologicals, stored grain products, and STI Customized blending service) across the region
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of Focus Product offerings and provide support for corresponding technical information that informs customer decisions
  • Participate in and present to customers and sales team members during meetings, training sessions, and events where Focus Products are emphasized
  • Collaborate with technical specialists to establish, coordinate, and collect information and data from Focus Product plots at customer locations, including tracking plot development and outcomes
  • Assist with training CHS personnel to effectively deliver technical and product information to customers, ensuring consistency and quality of execution
  • Partner with the CHS Research and Product Analyst to support the accumulation and organization of data from field demonstration trials and replicated research
  • Support marketing personnel by providing input on information needs and contributing to sales support materials
  • Assist in the development of technical selling tools for use by CHS personnel, including presentations, technical bulletins, and promotional materials
  • Serve as a Focus Product Champion for the assigned sales team by working closely with Sales Managers and Focus Product team members
  • Contribute constructively to sales best practices and role‑model collaboration by sharing knowledge with others
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation supporting sales execution, customer engagement, and required business reporting using CHS systems and tools.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or associated with essential job functions while supporting CHS values related to safety, integrity, collaboration, and continuous improvement

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • High Diploma and/or GED
  • 4+ years of experience in sales or business development
  • Willingness and ability to travel more than 85%

Additional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in agronomy, plant & soil sciences, or a related field
  • 4+ years of experience in the agricultural industry with a background in sales
  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a Focus Product Champion for an assigned sales team by partnering closely with sales managers and marketing leads
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence, present professionally to groups, and communicate effectively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, including customers, university personnel, and technical groups
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship‑building skills, with a demonstrated commitment to customer service and product support for both internal and external customers
  • Self‑motivated, success‑oriented mindset with the ability to perform effectively under pressure, manage time constraints, and contribute positively to team collaboration and sales best practices
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and common office tools, including the ability to develop and present Focus Product and agronomic materials to retailers and growers
  • Willingness and ability to travel more than 85%, including overnight travel as needed, maintain a clean driving record, and work varied hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays based on business demands
  • Active participation in professional agricultural organizations is encouraged

Compensation Data:

Hiring Data: $90,900 - $136,400

CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
